NPO „The Folkdance Society Toome“ was founded in 1999 by well known folk dance leader, Enn Madi and by former dancers of folk dance groups Tarbatu and Taara. According to the memorandum, the mission of The Folkdance Society Toome is to promote and develop the folk dancing and to keep it sustainable among the people. Toome has its own flag and logo since 2000 and it has 20 active members today. The average age of the members is 38 years.
Toome has had several tours abroad and in Estonia and has participated in several dance competitions since the year 2000. In 2003 and 2005 Toome won the title of the best dancer of Kaera-Jaan – the basic dance that everybody knows in Estonia.
